I would have liked to ask Gideon Levy how he would explain the support for Israel given by the UK, France, and, especially, Germany. To normal minds their behaviour is utterly inexplicable and morally repugnant. However, over the years it has become apparent that our rulers/elites follow a totally different rarified morality to ordinary people – I have to think only of Henry Kissinger as an example.
