While Russia and Putin paranoia is proving unsuccessful in drawing attention away from the nefarious effects of neo-liberalism in the EU and the centrist parties are cosying up to populists and neo-fascism (or simply co-opting their programmes), so they can no longer be used for that purpose, there seems to be only one option left, which the EU political elite hopes can create a reactionary consensus: anti-Semitism. In the USA they are comparing attempts to reduce C02 emissions to the persecution of the Jews here.
