A German intelligence service has condemned the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel as anti-constitutional for the first time in a newly released report. Since the begin of the Israeli holocaust against Gazans in Palestine the German government as well as academic and cultural institutions have moved with vehemence to prevent any criticism of Israel.
For the head of the Berlin Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Michael Fischer, the movement pursues the goal of “making Israel impossible in an international context. It aims to destroy Israel.” BDS thus ‘violates the idea of peaceful coexistence between peoples and is therefore a case for the Office for the Protection of the Constitution’.
In its report, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution deals with the topic of BDS in the section on ‘foreign-related extremism’. It states that the movement advocates the ‘abolition of the Israeli state’, which means that the ‘unifying ideological leitmotif of the network behind the BDS campaign is the denial of Israel’s right to exist’. At its core, BDS aims to ‘demonise and delegitimise Israel’.
The German Office for the Protection of the Constitution estimates the ‘personal potential’ of BDS in Berlin at around thirty people.
presumably Michael Fischer is also concerned about the rejection of “peaceful coexistence between peoples” expressed by the following Palestine-denying Israeli politicians. So what does he plan to do about it ?
