George Monbiot: Referendums get a bad press – but to fix Britain, we need more of them

650 parliamentarians decide for 66 million Britons. Elections are years apart. Is that really democracy asks George Monbiot. There must be a way to improve this system: referendums. The sort of referendum used for Brexit and how it was carried out was anything but edifying. There are however qualitative differences in how Referendums are conducted.
