Larry Elliot´s analysis is somewhat short-sighted. The mainstream media played a crucial role in keeping many critical voices and opinions out the discourse. We see this daily as the newspaper where Elliot writes, the Guardian. It does it best to undermine and slander the progressive policies and leaders of the Labour Party, offering a fig leaf group of authors to be able to claim pseudo left – Blairite left – credentials.
