They just don’t get it. When you work for the public you are being entrusted with other people’s money: trusted to use it sparingly and wisely. The higher the salary the more this seems to be forgotten. And for pensions there is not enough. As one Carillion manager said regarding paying into the company’s pension fund: “It’s just a waste of money”.
