I first published this very incomplete book on November 28th 2019–for reasons that will become obvious if you read the attached PDF. I have added just a few more details in the subsequent two and a half years, and it may be another two and a half years before I have time to complete it.
My overall objective in writing this was not to stroke my own ego–though it was fun to look back on the journey I’ve undertaken since I was an undergraduate student of economics in 1971–but because I know there are many, many young economists now who, like I did 51 years ago, feel that there was something seriously wrong with economics. I hope that detailing my own journey of discovery might help them cope with the journey they themselves are undertaking now.”
