In Germany around 2010 numerous leading politicians including ministers had to resign as it was revealed that they had copiously plagiarised or had not written their own dissertations. In Spain things seem to be no better, especially if a politician in the conservative Partido Popular. The question remains in Germany and Spain: How accommodating were the universities?
