The destructiveness and reach of neo-liberalism is made clear in this piece by George Monbiot. It is a question of felling some trees in the city of Sheffield in the UK, but one can see how systematic and brutal this free-market system has become, even at seemingly insignificant levels of society. This is not simply anti-democratic, but starting to resemble totalitarianism.
