In February of this year Berlin’s highly regarded film festival, the Berlinale, was plagued by a series of incidents that again exposed Germany’s policy of unconditional and fanatical support of the Zionist genocide in Gaza. It began with a statement during the opening press conference by the German president of the prize jury, the model progressive “Good German” film director Wim Wenders. When asked about Israel’s genocide and the support the German government — which funds much of the festival — has shown for Israel, Wenders claimed that filmmaking was “the opposite of politics,” and went on to explain that “We have to stay out of politics because if we make movies that are dedicatedly political, we enter the field of politics.” There was an international uproar and Wenders had destroyed his legacy much like Jürgen Habermas before him.

This was followed by one prize winner, Palestinian-Syrian filmmaker Abdallah Alkhatib, in his acceptance speech appearing wearing a keffiyeh and a Palestinian flag being held next to him, whose speech lambasted the German government as “partners in the genocide of Gaza by Israel, but you choose not to care.” He went on to declare: “We will remember everyone who stood by us, and we will remember everyone who stood against us.”

Then there was an open letter by round 100 current and former participants of the Berlinale (all foreigners, I could recognise no German names) criticising Wender’s and the Film Festival’s views on filmmaking and politics. The “tide is changing across the international film world,” they wrote, citing the refusal of more than 5,000 film workers, including several major Hollywood names, to work with “complicit Israeli film companies and institutions.”

The German political class and media went ballistic, outraged that these dark skinned people and other foreigners were questioning their hypocritical, self-congratulatory, and superficial progressive political image. Any person who is lavished with prizes and money from the German government should certainly behave as unscrupulously as Wenders.

This incident is typical for the Germans, who keep finding themselves being exposed for their limitless support of the war crimes and genocide being committed by Israel. Let us not forget that Germany provides a third of the weaponry for the mass terrorism of the Zionist state, second only to the US. Such incidents as at the film festival span every aspect of life in Germany these days: the arts, academics, media, politics, government, law enforcement, the courts.

What the Germans however cannot comprehend is why the world is questioning their virtuousness? Why is it not admiring the superficial charm, grandiosity, and self-importance of the Germans instead of concentrating on their penchant for lying, hypocrisy, deception, manipulation, moral depravity, and the inability to feel remorse or guilt?

The most essential element of Germans’ belief in their moral superiority is their support of Israel. They claim to have a special relationship with Israel and cite Israel’s “right to exist” as the reason of state of the German nation. After all they have publicly displayed what they consider immeasurable remorse for their genocide against the Jews whenever an opportunity offered itself. They deny there can be any other genocide than the one they inflicted upon the European Jews because no other could be worse. They don’t regret their genocide against the Roma and Sinti in Europe or the 30 million Slavs they systematically massacred by them during the Third Reich, nor for their genocide against the Herero and Nama in Namibia for that matter. Probably they realised early on that these groups were irrelevant for the US elite. As early as Adenauer the Germans knew that in the US the Zionists were a powerful force to be reckoned with.

There is probably no nation where the elite and people support the genocide and war crimes of the Zionist state so fanatically as the Germans. German chancellor Friedrich Merz explained in June 2025 after Israel’s decapitation strike against Iran his admiration for Israel’s war crimes that he would like Germany to be carrying out: “They’re doing our dirty work”. Former German foreign minister, Annalena “Butcher” Baerbock, in October 2024 publicly justified and supported Israel’s destruction of civilian sites such as schools and hospitals, as well as the murder of civilians in Gaza.

Actually most Germans do not care about Israel or Jews, many are as anti-Semitic as their grandparents. But their claim to shame and current support of Zionism provides them, they believe, with an unassailable exceptionalism, much as Arianism did two generations ago. And their unassailable moral virtue.

In January 2024, the German government announced it would intervene as a third party at

the International Court of Justice to defend Israel against South Africa’s genocide case. Until recently it was the sole nation to do so (the US has joined them this year). Dozens of other countries are formally supporting the South African complaint of “genocide” in the Gaza Strip at the ICJ. Interestingly in March Germany withdrew its backing, because continuing support ran the risk of negatively influencing a separate case before the ICJ brought by Nicaragua against the German state’s political, military, and financial assistance for the Zionist genocide. This week Germany, Italy. and Austria, the three main former Axis Powers in Europe, blocked suspending the association agreement with the Zionist state due to Israel’s genocidal war (Some things never change). The German president of the EU Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, is a fanatical Zionist who has imposed this policy upon the EU. Germany and its people have become the human shield for Israel’s genocide in Gaza and war crimes throughout Western Asia.

In March the German weekly “Die Zeit”, the newspaper of record for Good Germans and also a fanatical supporter of Zionism and its crimes, published an article concerning how Israeli soldiers are psychologically suffering from the atrocities they commit against the Gazans resulting in a rising suicide rate: “It’s not normal for a 19-year-old to kill 20 people a day”. This is probably nothing new in Germany. They were presumably spreading the same crap after 1945: It’s not normal for a 19-year-old to kill 100 Untermenschen a day. Germans cherish being the victim second only to exceptionalism. And do not forget the psychological anguish of the German staff at Auschwitz. For the Germans Israelis are human beings. Arabs are not. So you will find no genuine sympathy in Die Zeit for the Gazans; at best a fig leaf or two.

Oddly there was a poll being passed through social media claiming that a majority of Germans were against the Zionist genocide in Gaza. It must have been a complete fabrication. Saturday mornings I and others from the Gaza solidarity movement have an information table in Berlin either at the weekly market at Winterfeldplatz or in the pedestrian shopping mile Wilmersdorfer Straße. The former is in a liberal middle class neighbourhood with a large gay community, the latter is where the working class does it shopping. I can safely say that 90 percent of those who stop to sign our petition or speak to us have dark skin or are foreigners. Thousands of white Germans just walk past trying to ignore our existence – every Saturday. A few, who consider themselves especially clever, argue that there is no genocide, the Zionists have no choice as Arabs want to murder all Jews, or something similar. Empathy for the Gazans there is none, just like in Die Zeit. Germans are socialised as fascists, which entails being racist, Islamaphobe, and Russophobe.

The German media tries to protect their Germans from reality. They always portray any criticism of Zionism as anti-Semitism. Sometimes they go to remarkable lengths. At the Oscars ceremony in March the Spanish actor Javier Bardem presented the award for best international feature. At the conclusion of his speech he said “No to war and free Palestine”. Germany’s largest and most important state broadcaster, ARD, in their report cut out the words „Free Palestine“ from its coverage of the Oscars. They went so far as to claim that there were „not many political statements“ at the Oscars event. If reality is against you, get rid of reality. Goebbels would be proud of his Germans.

For those who do not accept “German reality” there is massive repression. Attempts to silence dissent and outlaw protest are not unique to Germany, but the fervour with which they were carried out, the breadth of the repression, and the extent to which the establishment fanatically takes part in this repression are unique.

Fear is the driving force of fascism. Germans live in fear of government repression. No wonder that almost everyone is afraid of speaking the truth that Israel is a nation of homicidal fanatics and maniacs. There is virtually no academic freedom in Germany regarding this issue with dozens of documented cases of pressure on university staff, including demotions and dismissals. Refractory civil servants are fired. Zionist genocide critical journalists lose their jobs, or as in the case of Hussein Dogru also their livelihood, including the opportunity to receive assistance from other citizens. Critical media and organisations have their bank accounts closed. Foreigners that are vociferous in their criticism of Israel’s genocidal rage were denied entrance to Germany, even such renowned names such as Yanis Varoufakis, or deported. The Germans are passionate about ferreting out “anti-Semitic Jews” in their midst.

Civil liberties are being eviscerated in Germany. There is a brutal repression of citizens who publicly show their opposition to the Zionist genocide. In the meantime twitter is flooded with films of German police maniacally beating up protestors. Demonstrations are arbitrarily banned, as are photos documenting the IDF and settler atrocities. Here are two films documenting how German police deal with a genocide supporter and opponents. Please take the time to watch them by clicking HERE. It is a criminal act to say “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”. This criminalisation is expedited by politicised German courts. Germany has not seen this level of systematic violence against its citizens since Hitler let the SA loose in 1933.

This has resulted in an acute atmosphere of fear, especially among Germans. At pro-Palestine demonstrations in Berlin on a good day maybe 20 percent of the participants are white. Half of those are non-German. Where you initially had many Palestinian mothers with children as well as older people, most have made the wise decision to stay away. It is simply too dangerous. Every demonstration one asks oneself: Am I going to be beaten up or arrested again?” That is the reality of German democracy today.

Although Western state and mainstream media do their best to hide these facts, this does not go unnoticed outside of Germany. After her recent visit to Germany Irene Khan, the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom, reported in February that the German government has relied increasingly on criminalisation and security-oriented approaches to address protests. Many of these measures – ranging from heightened protection of officials from public criticism to blanket bans on activists’ slogans, and surveillance of organisations on vague grounds of ‘extremism’ – are inconsistent with international human rights standards.” In October 2025 a group of UN experts urged Germany to halt criminalisation and police violence against Palestinian solidarity activism.

I believe I can safely say that Germany has not seen such intensive and far-reaching repression since the Third Reich. Ask the Germans however, and most will not know about it, just like their grandparents did not know about the fate of the Jews. Germans believe they have a unique right: the right not to know that provides them with immunity from all moral responsibility for events in their society and in their name.

Many Germans see their policy towards Israel’s Gaza holocaust as sublime. If you looked at the film I provided a link to above, you will see one Karoline Preisler. HERE another example. Ms Preisler attends most Saturday demonstrations against the Zionist Nazi genocide in Gaza – always with massive police protection. Her trademarks are a small bouquet of flowers and a sign with slogans like “Rape is not resistance” or “Until all hostages are free”. The rapes do not refer to the hundreds of Palestinians held hostage by the Zionists that have been raped, including by dogs, but the still unsubstantiated – even in the eyes of the Israeli authorities – of systematic rape of Israeli women on 7 October. And no, Preisler’s hostages are not the ten thousand of illegally held Palestinians in Israeli prisons, but were those hostages held by Hamas in Gaza, at least those that were not killed by the Zionists. Preisler has all the characteristics of a German fascist: arrogant and ignorant. She is considered a hero in Germany for her “German courage”. So why are Ms Preisler and most Germans not concerned about hundreds of Palestinians raped by Nazi Zionists in prisons or the ten thousand held hostage by the Israeli state? One returns still again to Germans seeing Israelis as human beings and the people of the Middle East as animals, as the Zionists keep repeating. Thus Merz could declare in March of this year “Iran should not be protected by international law”. Animals have no international rights or laws to protect them. This is nothing other than the recrudescence of the previously suppressed German discourse of the Untermensch that led to ten of millions of murders in Nazi Germany. Genocidal rage and impulses have broken out of their iron corset of “good-Germanism” and taken control of the German psyche again.
