The World Wealth and Income Database: World Inequality Report 2018

The World Wealth and Income Database (WID.world) aims to provide open and convenient access to the most extensive available database on the historical evolution of the world distribution of income and wealth, both within countries and between countries.

The World Wealth and Income Database (WID.world) relies on the combined effort of an international network of over a hundred researchers covering more than seventy countries from all continents. WID.world is coordinated by an executive committe composed of five co-directors:

Facundo Alvaredo- Paris School of Economics, Oxford University and Conicet
Lucas Chancel- Paris School of Economics and Iddri Sciences Po
Thomas Piketty- Paris School of Economics and Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales
Emmanuel Saez- University of California at Berkeley
