Politico: European Parliament accused of political stitch-up over top posts

The only amazing thing about this report is its portrayal of the current situation as something new. The EU was always extremely corrupt. Instead of embedding this article in the EU tradition of corruption, Politico has decided for senastionalism. There is nothing new in this story. Well yes, the increasing predominance of Germany in the EU with regard to personnal  – oddly not mentioned (Klaus Welle is German as well, as is Mangold, as is Selmayr, as is Jens Weidmann , who will probably head the ECB). The Germans are obviously running scared of the Visegrád Nations and the other countries that might not unquestioningly accept German hegemony, such as Italy.
