In the 2017 Dutch general election centrists thought they had turned the tide with regard to anti-EU sentiment in the Netherlands. Not anymore. With its neo-liberal policies the EU is still contributing to the rise of right-wing parties. The EU election in May could well bring a further deterioration of the situation.
